2023 Teen Summer Jobs: How to Apply for One Summer Chicago (OneSummerChicago.Org)

One Summer Chicago brings together government institutions, community-based organizations and companies to offer employment, internship, and enrichment opportunities to youth and young adults ages 14 to 24 during the summer months. Most programs are between 20 and 25 hours per week.

The application deadline for One Summer Chicago is Friday, June 2. Please note that there are 20,000 opportunities available through One Summer Chicago and so far, they have received 32,000 applications. Please don't wait until the last minute to apply and please continue to apply for additional summer opportunities outside of One Summer Chicago.

If you are younger than 16, you will need a work permit, which the Counseling Department can provide. I am in conversation with the counselors about our process for that as we transition into the summer, and we will share more details soon. That said, you must have an offer of employment before you can request a work permit from Payton, in accordance with the Illinois State Board of Education. (If you have a pressing matter related to obtaining a work permit due to an offer of employment you currently have, please contact your counselor.)

Please visit their website and specifically the Frequently Asked Questions section for more information. You may contact the staff members within the City of Chicago's Department of Family and Support Services indicated below, with any questions.
